Het wijkplatform Zuiderhout en Vredenhof heeft als doel het stimuleren van samenwerking tussen bewoners en organisaties in de wijk en het vergroten van de betrokkenheid tussen de bewoners van de wijk en hun leefomgeving en het verrichten van al wat hiermee verband houdt of daartoe bevorderlijk kan zijn. Het wijkplatform stelt zich tevens tot doel de bewoners op de hoogte te houden van de ontwikkelingen in de beide wijken. Kortom, het wijkplatform zet zich in om de participatie tussen met name de gemeente en bewoners en in de breedste zin van het woord te bevorderen. De focus ligt onder andere op: Inspraak en betrokkenheid bij project Zuiderhout en Vredenhof en andere aan de wijk gerelateerde andere activiteiten. Het stimuleren van de versterking van sociale samenhang en buurtbetrokkenheid in de wijk. Het gevraagd en ongevraagd signaleren van knelpunten en kansen in de leefomgeving. Communicatie vanuit het wijkplatform verloopt primair via de website en de wijkapps en zo nodig met aanvullende offlinemiddelen. We organiseren minimaal één jaarlijkse bijeenkomst voor bewoners.
Het werkgebied van de stichting betreft formeel de wijk zoals door de gemeente is vastgelegd en omvat de buurten Zuiderhout en Vredenhof. Het wijkplatform zal tevens ontwikkelingen m.b.t. het binnen en aan de wijk gelegen beschermd stadsgezicht Zuiderhout inclusief de nabijgelegen Haarlemmerhout en ontwikkelingen in de omliggende buurten actief volgen.
